Microneedling is a device with many fine needle points which penetrate the skin thousands of times during a treatment. The depth of treatment is determined by the depth of the problem we are trying to repair – sometimes into the epidermis and sometimes into the dermis and maybe deep dermis. Microneedling causes tiny little injuries and the body responds to those injuries with collagen production to repair the injury. When we add PRP or Sculptra to the surface to penetrate into all those little needle channels, the results are exponentially better. The purpose of this treatment is to correct micro fine lines and irregularities in the surface of the skin. Remember skin glows when light reflects off the skin and that happens with smooth surfaces.
